Palma Aquarium

Hi there!!!
Today I had to get up at 4 am and now I should sleep, but looking way back, since when I was a child I have not needed a few hours of sleep. My poor beloved mother can confirm this. When she mentions my childhood she always emphasizes that I was worse than my twin brother. I had a very light sleeper…. Okey, I’m writing at length….

Today I want to raise a subject for the next tourist attraction aimed at children – Palma Aquarium. This amazing place was funded in 2007 and is the first opened in Mallorca. Palma Aquarium is the property of Coral World International. The aim of this institution is “spreading awareness, knowledge and admiration for the beauty of the marine world and in order to encourage interaction with its many different species

This park is divided into several parts, for example: The Mediterranean Sea, Tropical Sea, Mediterranean Gardens, The Jungle, Big Blue and Jellyfish Tank. However, this is not a whole range of activities!! The number of attraction is endless, for example: “Dive with the Sharks” or “Shark Sleepover”.

Unfortunately, I haven’t had yet the opportunity to be at Palma Aquarium. I hope to change that this year!!!!!

The First Holy Communion

Hi Everyone!
How are you? How did you spend your last weekend? I know that I should write about Majorca, but today I want to change a topic. Now it is season of the First Holy Communion in Poland. Every sunday we can see boys and girls dressed elegantly and, of course, combed.

A few days ago, I went to the hairdresser and I saw a one mother who decided to enroll a daughter to the hairdresser at 6 a.m. Okay, this is something ordinary and normal to enroll a child to the hairdresser, but it isn’t normal so early!! The reason for this crazy situation was the First Holy Communion. I was really appalled, and I couldn’t figure out what to do. How can you go to the hairdresser at 6 a.m.?!

A child’s First Holy Communion is a happy time in her/his life and  we naturally want to mark the occasion with elegant dress and beautiful haircut. It is something obvious and evident, but in the same time we couldn’t get paranoid. Everything should therefore be done to find the proverbial golden mean :-)

Okey, it’s all for today!

Western Water Park :)

Hello Everyone!!
I promised to catch up with writing on the blog, but it is hard to find a little time to enter here and write something. I will not give up! I will keep my word!

In last post I wrote about Aqualand what is the most popular attraction among children. Today, I would like to continue this subject, but I will write about another water park in Majorca, about Western Water Park.

Park Map
The Western Water Park is the second-largest water park on the island after Aqualand. This attraction is located in Magaluf. The highest slides in the park are the Beast and the Mega Slide, which are both 20-25 m high. Other examples of tourist attraction for adults are: the Wild West, the Tornado, Boomerang and Tijuana Twins. However the originators have not forgotten about the children! There is a great space designed for the youngest in the family. There are: Children’s Paradise, Lago la Mina and Daky Park. These places are full of colors, mini slides and waterfalls. Also, the Western Water Park offers a wide range of gift shops where the most popular items for visitors are towels, sunscreen, toys, caps, t-shirts, of course, with Indian and cowboy designs. Obviously, there are here lots of stands with food and drink. The visitors can eat lunch in the open air watching children in the water.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t in this water park, but I will change this during holidays.
It’s all for today.

Aqualand :)

Hello again!
I have a backlog of writing…. Now I have to speed up because in the future I do not want to write posts with notes on my knees. You are aware that during the exams, the students do not have time for anything :)
Recently I wrote only about the monuments that’s why today I will put forward something for children. There are lots of tourist attractions in Majorca, but the most popular among children is AQUALAND.

Park Map
Aqualand is a large water park in Majorka ,located in the village El Arenal, with a great choice of slides, a wave pool, and other adventures, for example: the Black Hole, Harakiri, Banzai, Kamikaze o the Congo River. Of course some part of the attraction is designated for people who are over 1.50 meters tall. Also, the park has plenty of space and play areas. The children can enjoy for swings, slides, climbing structures and mazes. There is as well a gift shop and a lot of stands with drink and food.

Aqualand has only one defect….there are here a lot of queues. Once I waited 1.5h to go down a one slid. For many children it is a big problem, they don’t want to wait some much time. I can only recommend one solution: go to the water park on a weekday!

Okey, it’s all for today!

Alcúdia :)

Hi there!
How are you? I’m allergic and now it is the worst time for me because all the time I have runny nose. My mother calls me Rudolf. Do you know why?....I have a red nose, a very big, red nose. This is annoying….

In this post I want to write about tourist centre in the North of Majorca, Alcúdia. This amazing place is a large resort popular with families and couples due to the fine sand beaches, as well as the exquisite Old Town.

The name Alcúdia derives from the former Muslim Al Kudi. The city was funded in 1325 by King Jaume II on the site of the islamic settlement. During the next 4th centuries pirates attacked the city several times. This situation affected the slow depopulation of the city. In 1779 a decision was taken to support the city by constructing a harbor. This decision had a positive impact on the development of Alcúdia.

The hardbor of Alcúdia

Today’s city preserves the charming medieval street layout. The remains of Roman houses and an amphitheatre are narrow and irregular. Also, we have to remember about high architecture value of these monuments.

The Old Town
Finally, I would like to say that Alcúdia is perfectly restored and monuments, views are breathtaking.

P.S.

I booked a flight to Majorca!!! The sun and beach is what I love!!

What languages are spoken in Majorca?

Hello everyone!

How are you? Are you benefiting from a three-day weekend? I have the impression that I don’t know what  it means to rest. Ught! I have problem with that. How to “switch off”?? Always when I try to do, I am nervous…I don’t know how to explain it. Now, when I have a three-day weekend I try to do everything in one day. This is madness! Okey, I’m writing at length…

Today, I want to write about  the local dialect spoken in the island, Mallorquín. Mallorquín is a variant from Catalan, the main differences are the pronouns and a few words are other. Locals people will say that the language they speak is Mallorquín. It is noticeable there that natives they form a very nationalistic segment in society who claim mallorquín is a language in itself. Unfortunately, it isn’t! It is almost identical to Catalan! But I don’t doubt that having a dialect for local residents helps to create a common identity and culture. However, nowadays most mallorcans  they speak Catalan because they learn from the same books as children in Catalonia but always they speak both languages Mallorquín and Spanish, who is the only languages which has official status for the whole country.

Nevertheless, the tourists do not need to worry because a great number of local people are very proficient in English and German too. That’s all for today!
